About Urbis Concepts

Furniture Built the Way It Should Be

Most furniture sold today is built to look good, not to last.

Urbis Concepts was founded for a simple reason

What’s marketed as “premium” is often veneer over particle board, engineered cores, and shortcuts designed to protect margins, not quality. The branding has scaled up. The materials haven’t.

Urbis exists to do the opposite.

Why Urbis Exists

Urbis was founded by Nick after leaving a six-figure fintech career to solve a problem he ran into personally.

While shopping for furniture for his own home, Nick realized something most buyers only discover years later:

almost everything on the market was engineered to fail quietly — just late enough to need replacing.

As someone with a background in wood and materials, the truth was obvious:

  • Veneer masquerading as solid wood
  • MDF and particle board hidden beneath finishes
  • “Luxury” prices driven by showrooms and sales floors, not craftsmanship

Rather than accept it, Nick decided to build furniture the way it used to be built — and sell it the way it should be sold.

That decision became Urbis Concepts.

What We Build (And What We Don’t)

Urbis specializes in solid hardwood furniture — not engineered substitutes.

We started with live edge pieces that Nick personally finished and inspected. As demand grew, Urbis expanded into full furniture collections designed with the same non-negotiable standards:

  • Solid hardwood construction
  • Durable, repairable designs
  • Timeless forms over trends
  • Materials chosen for longevity, not convenience

We do not use veneer-wrapped cores.

We do not build furniture meant to be replaced every few years.

We do not chase trends at the expense of structure.

If a piece carries the Urbis name, it’s something we believe in — and would put in our own homes.

Designed With Intention, Sold With Honesty

Most furniture brands are built around showrooms, distributors, and markups.

Urbis is built around efficiency and transparency.

We operate directly from our warehouse rather than a high-overhead showroom. That choice allows us to:

  • Cut out unnecessary middlemen
  • Price furniture based on materials and craftsmanship — not retail theater
  • Show customers exactly what they’re buying, how it’s built, and where it comes from

You’re not paying for marble floors or commissioned sales scripts.
You’re paying for solid wood, skilled workmanship, and honest pricing.

Warehouse First, Customer First

While our long-term vision is ecommerce-driven, we recognize that buying furniture is personal — especially when quality matters.

That’s why we welcome customers into our warehouse to:

  • See pieces in real light, not staged lighting
  • Compare woods, finishes, and construction firsthand
  • Ask direct questions and get direct answers

No pressure. No theatrics. Just clarity.

What Urbis Stands For

Urbis is built on a few simple principles:

  • Quality over scale
  • Transparency over hype
  • Longevity over trends
  • Direct relationships over retail layers

We believe furniture should age beautifully, not deteriorate quietly.

We believe customers deserve to know what they’re buying.

And we believe solid wood furniture should be priced honestly — not artificially inflated.
